Post-surgery Prosthesis

After surgery and during radiation therapy, your skin will react very sensitively to contact and pressure. With a textile initial prosthesis in skin-friendly cotton or micro-fibre, you can rest assured no one will notice the difference. This product is extremely light and moulds gently to the body.

The Equitex Light temporary prosthesis is anatomically shaped in surgical foam and can be filled to various specifications. A special coating on the front side prevents slippage inside the bra. The skin-side microfibre material is extremely skin-friendly and breathable.

For secure support of this temporary breast form, we recommend that you wear it under a bustier, crop top or soft bra to hold it in place.

TIP: Also good to wear under nightwear!

What are the advantages of microfibre?

Microfibre does not absorb body moisture, but transports it away from the body immediately, leaving the skin feeling warm and dry. Microfibre is also a breathable and extremely skin-friendly material. Silicone prostheses in combination with a microfibre backing therefore offer optimal comfort and are particularly recommended in case of sensitive skin or a tendency to perspire. The excellent properties of microfibre are also highly important in the lingerie and swimwear market.

Silicone Prosthesis

All other breast prostheses are made of silicone which has outstanding skin and body compatibility. The softness and movement of a silicone breast prostheses resembles that of the natural breast and quickly assumes the body’s temperature.

Introducing the TriNature SoftLite Plus 1051X. The unique technology of the patented FlexGap® system ensures natural movement and allows the breast prosthesis to flatten naturally when the wearer is reclining – just like an intact breast.

The material has been dermatologically tested and certified to the latest international “biocompatibility” standard DIN ISO 10993.

When to wear silicone prosthesis:

A silicone prosthesis is only suitable once the scar has healed and the swelling subsided. Other conditions are a lessening of pressure sensitivity and the compatibility of a prosthesis with your follow-up treatment. During radiation therapy, a textile initial prosthesis is recommended due to its lighter weight.

Why silicone?

Silicone has excellent compatibility with the skin and body as it acts like human tissue. Its weight, softness, movement and resilience are close to that of the natural breast. The high heat conductivity of silicone ensures that Anita prostheses assume the body temperature straight away.

The source material for the production of silicone is silicic acid, a natural raw material. This actually has an oily surface, which is covered with a polyurethane film in the case of external prostheses. This film – unlike PVC films – consists of natural base materials and is widely used in medical engineering for this reason. It is extremely durable, with a skin-like structure, and is resistant to grease, oil, chlorine and salt water.

The materials used in Anita silicone prosthesis are dermatologically and physiologically tested and safe to wear in a bra or swimsuit. Pinpricks for example from brooches and rings must be avoided, however, as the film cannot be repaired if torn.
